I have always dreamed of becoming a pirate.
Always was seeking adventure, trying to see new places, meet new people and try all kinds of food the world had to offer.
So I started traveling by myself at a very young age, always trying to be close to the sea, always keeping an eye on the sailboats out there, wondering what it would be like, to sit on one, to see the world from the perspective of the water, surrounded by such strength and deep blue.
It took me 23 years of my life, to figure out:You don't have to be rich, to buy a sailboat.
You can sail the world by yourself, seeing all of the world almost emission free, travel with the power of the wind and the water.
So there I was, buying a sailboat with no clue of what I am getting myself into. I saw it on eBay, 3500 bucks. Possible, I thought.
There I went, looked at it, without knowing at all what to look for. And kind of, just bought it.
A Maxi 77,
built in 1978,
7,70 Meter long
2,50 Meter wide
1,50 Meter deep
Called, Ahava. The love, of my life.
Now here I am, 1.5 years later, still learning, still fixing, still not sure what I am doing, but as happy as I have never been. Feeling, stronger then ever, more connected to my true self. My Ahava, keeping me afloat.
So come, follow me and Ahava, on our chaotic journey of refitting a sailboat with no clue, no money but a big heart, endless chaos and tears of joy and sorrow.
